About me Dr Ghita Harifi,
The Rheumatologist in Dubai
I am a Consultant Rheumatologist practicing in Dubai since 2012. I graduated from the University of Medicine of Marrakech, Morocco then I specialized in Rheumatology, a medical branch that deals with multisystem conditions and demands a broad knowledge of all subspecialities of internal medicine . I have done my Rheumatology fellowship at the Université de Strasbourg, one of France’s best research universities specialized in auto-immune diseases. I completed my Post-Graduate Certificate in Interventional Rheumatology, and my French Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound from L’Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC), Sorbonne Universités, Paris.
I am an expert in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and I have been leading many teaching programs in this field in the UAE and in the APLAR region.
I am actively involved in research and education, and have been published in numerous peer reviewed journals.
I have the honor and privilege of representing the Emirates Society of Rheumatology in the APLAR (Asia-Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology) Young Rheumatologists Committee, where I have been nominated as Vice-Chairperson.
In 2022, I have received the Emirates Women Award, a prestigious distinction for women who thrive in the UAE.

The Emirates Society for Rheumatology (ESR) is a member of Emirates Medical Association, and works tirelessly to improve the standard and quality of Rheumatology care in the UAE.
The Emirates Rheumatology Academy (ERA) is a group of Rheumatologists aiming to bring up-to-date quality Rheumatology Education to Physicians around the world.
The mandate of the Middle East Arthritis Foundation is to increase awareness and education about arthritis. Its goal is to improve the quality of life for people with arthritis through leadership training, and in the prevention, control and cure of the disease.
Member of APLAR educational committee (Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology).
Member of the EULAR (European League for Associations Against Rheumatism).
The Moroccan Society of Rheumatology (Morocco) is a learned society bringing together people interested in diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
